Recent Grants
When our donors give unrestricted gifts, they allow the Foundation's trustees to determine how their gifts can best serve the community from year to year as needs and programs change. The earnings from these gifts are distributed through our Discretionary Grants Program. This program allowed us to award more than $6,000 during our most recent grant cycle:
2008 - Doulos, Inc., dba Doulos Family Services, Inc.
$1,500 for a computer technology upgrade to meet the ever-expanding demands of their services.
2008 - The Salvation Army
$500 for Tools for School - Pike County program.
2008 - United Way of Pike County
$1,620 to help pay for the 5th annual Day of Caring.
2008 - Purdue University - Pike County COOP
$300 to pay for the "Professor Popcorn Exploring My Pyramid" program for about 200 Pike County elementary students.
2008 - Bread of Life Ministries, Inc. $2,500 for transportation costs of two semi-truck loads of food.
2007 - Petersburg Ministerial Fellowship
2008 - Walnut Hills Cemetery $1,000 to help purchase a lawnmower.
2007 - Petersburg Police Department
2008 - Purdue University, Pike County COOP
$541 for the Adult Children Aging Parents (ACAP) program in Pike County.
2008 - Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department
$4,000 to purchase new radio equipment.
2008 - Evansville Philharmonic Orchestral Corporation
$500 to help with the 2008 - 2009 Young People's Concerts for Pike County students.
2008 - Petersburg Fire Department
$3,300 to help renovate a travel trailer which will be used to educate people about escaping a building in case of fire.
2008 - Pike County Commission for Arts Promotion and Education (PC CAPE)
$2,000 challenge match to help pay for the Hodges Mural Project.
2008 - Pike County Emergency Medical Service (EMS) $5,600 for advanced life support training for Pike County EMT's. 2008 - Pike County Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) $2,000 for improvements to the shelter. 2008 - Pike County Ministerial Fellowship $655 to use for the Clothe-a-Child campaign in Pike County. 2008 - TRI-CAP $350 to fund the Senior Energy Education & Savings (SEES) program. 2008 - Vincennes University Foundation (Generations) $810 for the "EnhanceFitness" project in Pike County. 2008 - Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana $2,000 for the Junior Achievement programs for Pike Central Middle School.
